This cartridge filter doesn't have the two bands glued around the filter like the ones I have gotten from the Doughboy dealer. However, I think it is much easier to spray in-between the pleats when they aren't glued so close together. The bugs and dirt slide very easily down to the bottom and out of the filter. I don't know how long these will last, but the ones I got from my dealer have only lasted two summers and the bands have broken. They cost twice as much and are much more time consuming when cleaning. I also end up with a lot of little cuts on my fingertips from trying to pry the pleats open when they are glued. So I am sticking with these filters for now. I like to change them out every 3 weeks so they are easier to clean. I keep at least one spare one that is clean and dry so I can soak the dirty one for a few days in a small plastic garbage can with Cascade for dishwashers. Then I let it dry for a few days in the sun. I hope Amazon continues carrying these at such a good price!
