I never write reviews but always find them helpful to read for purchases like this one, so here goes.For people researching different umbrellas, just get this one. I purchased this to replace an IKEA Baggon umbrella that I got two good years out of, but this one is much better. Firstly, it's not as flimsy as a couple of other reviewers made it out to be. It's REALLY big, so it does need a strong base. It actually works perfectly with the IKEA Svarto base (which I am using, and it fits better than the IKEA umbrella did). With a sturdy base, there is actually very little movement in the canopy, even on windy days.It was really easy to put together. I, a smart and bad-ass lady, had it out of the box, put together, and on my deck in about 20 minutes. I also really like the color. My other umbrella was white, which was pretty, but let's face it...no matter how careful you are about watching the weather and covering it when it's going to rain, it's going to get rained on sometimes. The white umbrellas become mildew-y and really show it pretty quickly. I bought a cheap canvas water repellent spray at Home Depot and applied it to this, and I think the darker color will help it stay looking good.Lastly, I can see that the canopy can be replaced, when needed. The IKEA umbrella I had was impossible to replace just the canopy. The way the mechanism was rigged was not conducive for replacement. This one is rigged up much easier, and in a couple of years, I'll be able to buy just a cheaper replacement canopy if need be.This was a great value for the money. The size and look of it makes it seem much more expensive than it was. Highly recommend.Update: July 2019- I've had this umbrella for two years and three months, and it finally broke. I will be repurchasing the same umbrella, because I think that 68 bucks for two years and some change is a good deal. I see that a lot of people had an issue with the chord that attaches the canopy to the opening mechanism, and I also had this issue. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal. The umbrella didn't always stay super-tight and fully open, the chord would cause it to droop slightly, but since it's so huge it never mattered to me. Getting up to crank it back up an inch once an hour just doesn't matter to me, it's fine. The part that finally broke was the housing for the crank-arm mechanism. Just kind of ripped off, and I see rust on it. I live in NC and this thing survived a lot of rain, some snow, even one hurricane. I'm still totally happy with it and will be happy to purchase another.
