Product Description This Radial Flow GAC water filter (model CFRFGAC20-20BB) fits all Home Master Whole House water filtration systems, as well as 20-inch Big Blue filter housings. Offering ideal carbon filtration for high flow applications, the filters coconut shell activated carbon provides improved taste, smell and purification, and its radial flow design provides excellent iron reduction with minimal pressure drop (<1 PSI pressure drop). It also removes up to 95-percent of chlorine, chemicals, taste, and odors. This filter has a typical lifecycle of 100,000 gallons (or 1 year). It measures 20 x 4-1/2 inches, and it has a 1-inch center hole. This filter is not designed to treat microbially unsafe or non-potable water without adequate disinfection before and after unit. Operating conditions: pH 4 - 10; feed water PSI 20 - 100 PSI; water temp 40 to 100 degrees F; 2000 ppm maximum total dissolved solids. They appear of high quality and seem to work well; no chlorine taste or water smell. I historically have had trouble aligning the filter opening with the opening at the top, because as you screw the cylinder casing on, the filter in side juggles a little to the side creating less than a perfect alignment. I finally fixed this by packing ice around the filter when I screw it up into place. This means it stays in one place while you install it.
