Much higher water throughput vs. RO systems and water is clean and great. I recommend this system. Filter swaps are easy n fast.Made a mistake of buying this water filtration system years ago. Now I am stuck buying these overpriced and ever increasing in price filters and buying water faucets, because they purposely make them very poorly and with no replacement parts. They start leaking a year or so into service and the only remedy is to buy a new faucets. Stay away from this system.Concerned about the Prop 65 warning that the filters contain carcinogenic materials. Also concerned that my HM Digital COM-100 water quality meter measured 260ppm entering and 270ppm exiting the 3 new Watts Premier filters (after flushing with >3 gallons of water); I was expecting particles to be filtered out, not added.I am adding my own review after reading too many uninformed people complaining that they this system does not reduce TDS (total dissolved solids). If you want to remove dissolved solids you need to run a reverse osmosis system. Therefore: Monitoring TDS levels is most helpful if you have a reverse osmosis system. Reverse osmosis is intended to take everything out of the water including naturally occurring minerals (TDS). You would expect to see a very low TDS level with a reverse osmosis system (< 50ppm). If you have an ultrafiltration system, one of the benefits of this style of filtration is that it keeps healthful minerals in your water. As a result there will be a healthy level of TDS in your water. A lot of folks make the switch from a reverse osmosis system to an ultrafiltration one and panic when the TDS reading is not close zero, or around the TDS level their RO system provided. A reverse osmosis system should be removing everything including the minerals; ultrafiltration retains healthful minerals. As far as this particular system, I think it works quite well in improving taste. I do wish that the filters were still around $80 per year rather than closer to $100, but I'm glad they are still easily available. We were in need of new filters for our osmosis system and buying them at Menards costs about $100 for a total of three filters. The value of these is incredible and they do the job of the original ones we were purchasing. Highly recimmendi see people saying t d s that's not a way of measuring i tested five different bottled water and all claimed to have ph of 9 or around that none of them had that some were so acidic could not drink it simple test strips will show this my tap water out of filters 8 ph hmmm ads is a measurement od solids eat minerals are good for you helloThe filter replacements are easy to replace, installation of the system requires knowing about plumbing and can take some time to do it right.Once you get this Watts filter system you're stuck with their proprietary filters. Since I installed this system (which works well, BTW) the price of replacement filters has gone up a lot and I have not found any alternatives. So we seem to use the filters long after expiration, which is not ideal.Like inkjet printers and Shaving razors, looks like all the profit is in the consumables. If I were to start over I'd look to buy a system that uses non-proprietary filtersJust used a TDS meter. Tap water 147 filtered water 158. Go figure. I found out nobody in my condo uses filters. All drink straight from the faucet. We have at least 7 over 90 & the rest, including myself. between 70's & 80's. My review speaks for itself. Sorry filter companies. Mississauga water pretty darn good. Stephen WongI have been using these filters on my system for 4 years now. Does a wonderful job and I really like the quick change of the cartridges. This is the second time I order replacements and I am very happy with the quality and ease of use and the quality of the filtered tap water I get.I use the filtered water for all that is drink related. The ice cubes made with the filtered water are completely transparent, assuring me of reduced to zero solids in the water. Excellent stuffThis was a repeat purchase, we are satisfied with the product, it arrived on time and does what it promises - however, being conscientious consumers we wanted to know about the possibility of recycling the old filtration cartridges and contacted the seller 3 weeks ago, but still haven't heard back. There is nothing in the accompanying description that refers to recycling of used cartridges. So it gets 4 stars for functionality, and a fail for sustainability! The replacement pack works, and I like the results. However, after about 2 years I also had to replace the unit itself - something went wrong the plumber couldn't identify and replacing all the filters didn't help - I suspect the cheap plastic valve under the sink (the one on top is nice). So I recommend factoring in replacement of the unit itself every two years, as well as the replacement filters, in any cost assessment.Have been use this under sink filter for couple years. Its super easy to change the filter for someone not handy enough like me. I can do it all by myself and no need to call the technician and cost extra money every year.Usually I change once a year, but sometime the taste of the water remind you "Its time to change your filter" as the water taste has changed to pure and sweet after the filter has been changed.
