This product works. It could work better. I have tried just about everything for my aggressive chewer. He just gets his back teeth involved and I'm throwing money away. This has lasted him for a while. He's not interested in it. He's also managed to get a chunk taken out of it already. It's good but not great.I have two major chewer dogs, and one of REALLY chews on everything. It’s super difficult not spending an average of $50 every 2-4 months on chew toys because they go through them so fast.When I got my first boy I saw his chewing habits so I looked for a durable chew toy brand. Nylabone was everyone’s favorite so I tried two or three chew toys for him after attempting other brands. He’s six years old and this past Christmas I JUST threw away his very first chew bone. It lasted over 5 years. I was ecstatic after year one! A heavy duty chew toy brand that actually did was promised!Naturally I stuck with Nylabone, never having an issue with any of their toys until this one. Cheeseburger bacon flavored/scented was my go to for this second puppy I just got with the same, if not more, super chewing habits. He loves trying to steal our bacon and burgers so I’m like, “Okay. I’ll try this one.”It arrives, I open it. It smells like freshly burnt rubber from tires and neither of my boys will touch it. I’m also wondering how this can be durable if I can literally bend without trying much. I’m overly concerned with them digesting it and will probably toss it in the trash since my youngest boy has stomach issues already and doesn’t need this thing irritating it.In short, if you think yours will smell like bacon burger go for it. Just make sure your dog isn’t a super canine chewer because I doubt this thing would last an hour with even one of my dogs and that’s if they would actually touch it.Our dogs love this product. The smell was what really got them interested. I gave this product a 4 only because immediately after bringing it home our pocket beagle was able to chew the corner of it off. Luckily I was paying attention, but we will definitely purchase another one.On the upside the dog loves this! We have a 35 pound pit-mix who is on the smaller side for her breeds but quite a strong chewer for her size and she really enjoys this bone and wants to play with it a lot and it has become one of the toys she likes best.The downside is that within a fairly short span of time she had already chewed several pieces off and we have to be careful to take the bits away so she doesn't eat them.This might be a good fit for some dogs, I would say not for 'power chewers' or really big or strong dogs but for a medium sized average dog this might work well just keep an eye on them if they start to tear pieces off take it away from them.Nice toy! Not durable for a super chewer proof but it should be okay for a few weeks.I was worried when I opened the package because of the smell wafting out. An indescribable combination of rubber tires and old cheese. Be warned, the smell also lingers on your hands after touching it. I see why the package says, "get a flavor for every room," because now my bedroom smells like a tire fire that someone started using Parmesan as kindling.That said, the puppy seems to like it. And if it keeps her out of my hair for 10 minutes, then it's $3.59 well spent.My oldest dog has gone through roughly 100 Nylabone products in her short time with us. She chews night and day. However, this bone she would not touch. Too rubbery smelling and no flvor as listed. While I recommend Nylabone in general for durability and likability from my pups, stay away from this one.So I purchased this for my growing heathen. He has a cheese steak rubber bone that he likes to have only at bedtime, so I figured he would like the meatloaf one. The idea behind it is too keep him from..."STOP CHEWING ON THE BED!" chewing on the furniture. For the most part its working well."LEAVE YOUR BROTHER ALONE! YOU CAN'T DRAG HIM AROUND BY HIS COLLAR!" We have chews all over the place and three toy baskets..."THE BOX IS NOT A CHEW TOY!" full of toys and love the Nylabone products. We have dinosaurs and puppy chews and flavor chews and..."FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST LAY DOWN AND STOP CHEWING ON EVERYTHING!" and dura-rings but these rubber ones are the only ones he likes when he goes to bed.Finally! He has laid down and is currently chewing on said bone.And I am sleeping with dog bones...oh my life.I regularly get Nylabones as I have 5 dogs, 4 of whom are bull terriers who have annihilated shoes, remote controls, foot rests etc. Not one of them had any interest in this one. It has a very strong smell of rubber, and the texture nobbly bits actually freaked the pit bull out!Stick with the non-rubber ones would be my advice.Now it never went near my mouth so I can't speak about its flavour!! The dogs liked it and we're keen to get it out of its packaging. It's a rubbery material which seems like it would care somewhat well but all the little nobbly bits were just falling off.My 9 month puppy had this destroyed in less than half an hour. Was hoping for more, especially considering the price.My dog ADORES these. This is her 2nd one; the first lasted a few weeks. You do need to supervise your dog with it and keep inspecting the rubber for damage because eventually bits of it will get chewed off, which could easily get swallowed.So to sum up, it's pretty good quality for dogs that are tough chewers, but obviously no dog toy is Indestructible and an eye needs to be kept on it.Rubbish toy that was delivered much latter than promised. 5 mins with one small dog and it had bits coming off it and as its not edible and should not be ingested i had to take it away, Expected more from the manufacturer and supplier.The description is a complete misrepresentation in every way. Nylabone Strong Tough Durable none of these apply to this dog toy waste of money.Our 2 year old 46kg Labradoodle has just chewed the end off the first one of these we bought which lasted over a year. Its made of rubbery material which has been very durable, and the flavouring seems to work as the dog does spend time licking it. He has another Nylabone which is the really hard plastic type, and that has also lasted well, but this is the preferred one - for now at least. Recommended.
