OK everyone, you need 1 tool, a flat head screwdriver to remove the hose clamp. Push in on each part of the hose with the clips into the metal pipe, twist it back and forth a few times to free up the inside clip retainers. Squeeze the outside tabs flat to the metal pipe with your thumb and finger while keeping the hose pushed into the metal pipe. Then pull the hose off with your other hand. I did the same thing with the other hose. Motorcraft KH-451 HVAC Heater Hose Assembly. I did the removal and install in less than 30 minutes for both hoses, that's including the extension that has to be removed as well... How did I do it? Take your 2 pointer fingers and find the outside tabs, they will be right by the firewall. With your palms on both sides of the hose extension, squeeze palms and push the extension in, not to hard now because the heater core is on the other side of that. Now push both tabs in with pointer fingers, use other fingers and thumbs to slide the extension off while keeping the tabs pushed in. It may take you a few tries, but you can do it! The flat head was also used for prying up the inside clip retainers on the old clips, cause those will stay on the metal pipe when you slide off the old hose. Those will need to be removed. Take clips from new hose and install on metal pipe, then just line them up on install, plug and play! Good luck. Hope this helps, cause it was really that easy.
