Probability the best product as a pond skimmer. I say probability because I have only used one product like this but this one is well made. Good design and function. The over all quality of the main skimmer and the included components are well made and should last a long time. As an example you can see the screws that hold the skimmer door on in the picture. There isn't just a few there are enough to really do the job correctly and they are made of s high end stainless steel. The cover is also very good. Strong, reasonably light weight and It blends in with most pond environments. The skimmer door could be a bit larger (Taller). Regardless of that, the water level has to be high in the opening or the pump may over draft the container dry or very low. So you will need to match the pump/skimmer size rating closely for openings and plumbing match. In addition in operation you will need to keep the pond level at the correct depth to keep the skimmer filled enough. The overall instructions are weak. Made to cover a few products, it is only a vague in reference in what you might need. There is one picture that is very small. You can figure it all out but there could be information supplied given most users will have not setup something like this before. A reference web site might be good improvement. Overall a very good product.
