At 87 years old, she is completely blind and struggles with advanced parkinson's disease and dementia. She does surprisingly well with her willingness to do daily exercises to keep her strength up. She has a progressive disease that caused her to lose her sight in her thirties, but she still thinks very fondly of her favorite colors: purple and green! She likes to wear those colors when possible and have her nails done, too! She was THRILLED to learn that I'd found a gait belt in her favorite colors!!! When wearing this belt, she feels comfortable allowing herself to risk further range of motion when stretching, without the fear of falling because she knows I'm holding her steady. 100% awesome purchase!It is a gait belt and wired wellMy physical therapist shared with me a softer gait belt but this one works fine and I like the colors. The belt webbing is very strong. I am hoping it will become softer with use since it is cotton. I have been doing physical therapy since November. I found stretching is absolutely the best for pain management of the arthritis in my knees. This very simple inexpensive tool works great for that purpose.Used to assist in self-lifting effected foot onto bed or into car following total hip replacement.
