Lennox X0587 MERV 10 Air Filter 20x26x5 (2 Pack) - Genuine OEM Replacement for HVAC Systems - Perfect for Home, Office & Commercial Use

On the recommendation of our HVAC repair person, I ordered a slightly lower performance filter for our house AC. I get these ahead of time, as I never remember to have one on hand when needed. I tried replacing my X8788 filter (MERV 16) with this new X0587 (MERV12) and it doesn't fit. Then I notice on the filter itself 20" x 26" x 5" (actual filter size- 20 7/16" x 26" x 5 5/32". The extra 7/16" was too much to fit into the filter cabinet. Unfortunately, it was ordered several months ago, so bad on me for not checking on receipt.Slightly odd size to fit a Lennox forced air system. Fit my Lennox systems perfectly with no 'packing' needed. My A/C guy said that this is the proper way to fit a filter. Priced about the same as generic filters at the home store.Will buy again and would recommend to a friend with a Lennox system using this size filter.Replaced a Lennox electro-static filter with this and it fit perfectly. Haven't used it long enough to comment on its durability or longevity, but it seems to be doing OK.Careful about the item listing. Lennox has lost credibility in my eye, and the seller did nothing to help confusion. They have two different sizes that are both labeled "20x26x5" on the filters. A person might think they had the right oone because the giant dimensional numbers match. WRONG. One is a bit larger than that, and one is a bit smaller than the printed dimensions (so why even print the wrong dimensions in the first place?). These filters are the larger ones and will not fit in some systems. Really great design there. I am glad I wasted days without a filter only to be tricked like that and have to wait even longer for the correct size. My choices are to either run my furnace with no filter, or turn it off for the week now. Thanks for a crummy listing that didn't help clarify.The house I bought has Lennox furnaces that originally had metal electrostatic filters that had to be washed every month. This filter was an exact fit to replace them. No more dragging the heavy metal filters from the attic. Also my electric bill dropped after changing to these. Great product!I was skeptical because others had complained about the oversizing of the filter and not fitting. I have a White Rodgers box and the filter fit perfectly and an added benefit was that the filter arrived, one day earlier than scheduled. Happy camper.I received two of these filters and they are not Lennox filters or Lennox Quality. They are labeled Healthy Climate Solutions and are made in Mexico. The cardboard wedges that separate the pleats were not in place and the filter material was not glued securely to the sides. Won't be buying these again, a filter that is not sealed properly is worthless.Great product!
