Love this tea!Developed in minimum time !!!This is great Assam tea. Not available in any stores. Local Tea shop used to serve this. I think it got too expensive for them……So glad to be able to get it via Amazon! As it’s sooooo good!Strong and malty just as they say. I like it as afternoon tea.Twining's Assam was once readily available at US grocery stores but apparently no more as I've researched online far & wide for grocery stores that carry it with no success. Though there are small US online businesses that offer the product, it has gone from being relatively available in stores to more of an online specialty item .I have sampled several other quality brands of Assam but nothing compares to the Twining's offering which has unique, nuanced taste & texture likely due to ideal soil & climate conditions, diligent cultivation and discriminating sorting, selection & roasting of the tea leaves themselves.Twining's Assam is a great, stand-alone black tea that has no equal in my estimation.Ok so I moved to England where coffee is not a basic human right (but tea is) and I looked all over the place for decent coffee and then gave up. And then I started drinking tea, cause that's what you do when you don't have coffee, and my British mate introduced me to this amazing tea that is the closest thing to coffee that I have ever drank (besides coffee of course). It tastes more like coffee than Hickory coffee from LA. I then moved back stateside and now I want to drink this tea, because when you drink too much coffee that you feel your pupils twitch and you feel that your still need to write a few more pages of whatever you are doing you just have to drink something else. Where was I, right! I looked everywhere in town and could not find this tea so I turned to the net and I bought it really cheaply (two boxes) online. Only when it arrived did I realized that I bought it from some shop in Sweden! Sverige! (that's Sweden in Swedish). Well The tea is fresh and everything is great. I have no idea what kind of money laundering operation I am enabling by buying cheat tea from Sweden but it works for me. I am now on my last box and its about time to get Sven to send me some mo'!This is really delicious tea. especially if you like it with milk/cream and sugar. Unfortunately Twinings does not offer Assam in the US and currently has no plans to do so. Whenever I travel to the UK I stuff the corners of my suitcase full of Assam, but I haven't been traveling there lately. Getting it shipped from the UK is a bit expensive but this Amazon seller has a better price than specialty tea suppliers in the US.I made more than one cup, letting each steep longer than the other. It just wasn't flavorful enough. no aroma and only slight taste of malt. I have never had any bad tea from Twining's that I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe this was an old box.Der Tee ist innerhalb der Box in zwei Folienbeuteln verpackt, d.h. keine Einzelverpackung pro Beutel. Es sind jeweils 2 große leicht trennbare Vliesbeutel in 2 schönen Folienbeuteln a 40 Stück in der Packung. Der Geschmack ist gut, nicht besonders stark, d.h. für eine große Tasse benutze ich mind. 2 Beutel, für eine Kanne noch 1 Beutel extra. Das Teekraut ist ziemlich fein, wenn man es genau betrachtet, also vielleicht nicht absolute Spitzenqualität, aber durchaus in Ordnung. Schmeckt auf jeden Fall gut.Schmeckt stark, rund, malzig und mir persönlich deutlich besser als der Breakfast Tee.Mit oder ohne Milch ein Genuß. Derzeit mein Lieblingstee.Die Teebeutel sind ohne Schnur und enthalten mehr Tee als man von den hiesigen Marken gewohnt ist.Man muss die Finger oder einen Löffel nehmen um sie aus der Tasse zu bekommen.Die Umwelt dankt für Einsparung von Schnur, Klammer und Karton.Die Beutel sind nicht einzeln eingeschweisst verpackt, sondern alle gemeinsam in 2 Plastikbeuteln, die man leider nicht wieder verschließen kann.This tea was so tasteless you hardly knew you were drinking anything. We even tried brewing for an extended period of time and even though it got very dark, still no flavour. Just like drinking hot water. Must have been very old.As a small tea grower myself (Ceylon highlands), and drinking lots of tea from many brands/local institutions and preferring a strong robust and tasty "English Breakfast" equivalent to what is drunk in millions locally in Sri Lanka (where strong black sweet tea is norm, with milk or ginger), this Assam tea is the best fit from Twinnings for my Ceylon tea tastes. Delivers a very satisfying cup and the manufacturer's description fits the product well. Clearly stronger and more full bodied than for most casual European tea lines and labels...It is also darker and more full bodied than Twinnings' Breakfast (which is fine but abit lighter). It is definitely better, in my view, for your daily cuppa than Lipton's Yellow (quite good) and maltier than specialist teas like Crabtree & Evelyn's "English Breakfast Tea" (good).My 80 tea bags order came in two separate 40 bag boxes, which is fine as it seals flavour and smell separately for longer... Definitely going for a repeat...Als Ersatz für den zu hohen Kaffee-Konsum suchte ich einen kräftigen schwarzen Tee zum Frühstück und für den späten Nachmittag.Dazwischen trinke ich noch immer einige Tassen Milchkaffee im Büro.Auf Grund des Rates eines englischen Kollegen suchte ich also nach einem Assam. Er meinte, dass Assam das regenreichste Teegebiet inIndien und dieser Tee daher besonders gut sei.Der Tee hält was er verspricht: Stark, angenehm malzig ohne bitter zu sein (3 min ziehen lassen, Aufguss mit Wasser sprudelnd gekocht).Ich süsse ihn mit etwas Waldhonig und gebe einen kleinen Schuss Milch dazu. Der Tee ist sehr bekömmlich und ist für mich eine sehr guteAlternative zum Kaffee, den ich auch weiterhin gerne trinke - nur weniger.Für die Lieferung benötigt man jedoch etwas Geduld - also rechtzeitig nachbestellen. Es lohnt sich.
