SIZING CHART: HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MODEL FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG Choose The Number Of Steps For The Height Of Your Vehicle: Measure before buy to ensure proper fit! Pet Loader offers 3,4, and 5 step models to accommodate any height. Measure from the pavement to where your pet will enter (cargo floor, seat, truck bed, rear entry, etc.), then see height chart below. Choose The Width: Pet Loader models come in 12," 14.5," 16," or 18" widths. Choose width based on the space where the Pet Loader will need to fit and your dog's comfort level. All widths will work for rear entry use. For Side Entry Use: With the platform resting on the seat, Measure the height from the pavement to the backseat to find the extension/step height needed. Measure the door opening width. All openings must allow 2” of additional space to accommodate the width of the Pet Loader. The 12˝ Mini will fit MOST side entry vehicle doors. The 14.5" Ultra-Light will fit SOME side door vehicles. The Lite 16" or XL 18" MAY fit in the side entry of some large SUVs. Factory Installed Wheels Available: Factory installed wheels allow you to roll Pet Loader for easily mobility. Pet Loader Mini 12" with wheels CHOOSING A LOADER BASED ON DOG BREED OR SIZE, RECOMMENDATIONS HIGHLIGHTED: FOR SMALL DOGS For small dogs, such as the toy breeds, Chihuahuas, Shih Tzu, Toy Poodles, Pugs, Pomeranians, and Maltese, the Pet Loader Mini (12") works perfectly. The smaller platform of the Pet Loader Mini dog stairs will work for them in almost every situation. FOR MEDIUM TO LARGE DOGS For medium to large dogs, we recommend the Pet Loader Ultra Light (14.5") or Pet Loader Light (16") for rear entry use. The 16″ platform of the Pet Loader light will accommodate almost every breed, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Bulldogs, Pointers, and Huskies. These breeds typically weigh less than 150 pounds. For those that are over 150 pounds we recommend the Pet Loader XL. FOR EXTRA LARGE DOGS For extra large dogs, we recommend the Pet Loader XL. These include Mastiffs, Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Bernese Mountain Dogs & Saint Bernards. These dogs because of their size and weight should be using the Pet Loader XL with its 18″ platform. All dogs that weigh over 150 pounds or that are built with a wider girth should use the wider, more rugged Pet Loader XL.
